We carry out a wide range of surgical procedures in-house, with plenty of exposure to emergency and complex surgery. You'll enjoy a varied clinical caseload across soft tissue, orthopaedics, dentistry, ophthalmology, dermatology, medicine, with opportunities to build your skills and confidence.

About you

We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys a varied role with a great mix of consultations and surgery, managing a diverse caseload while making a real difference to pets and owners who need our support.

 

To be successful, you'll:

  • Be MRCVS registered.
  • Have experience delivering high-quality patient and client care.
  • Take a pragmatic, welfare-focused approach to clinical decision-making.
  • Be confident working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Be computer literate and comfortable using clinical systems.
  • Ideally have 12 months' UK small animal practice experience.

 

About the Hospital

Gillingham Pet Hospital is a purpose-built PDSA veterinary hospital with ample free on-site parking. The hospital is well equipped, featuring two operating theatres, six consulting rooms, a dedicated preparation area, separate dog and cat kennels, an isolation ward, and an imaging room.

 

Working Pattern

Work-life balance is a key focus, with minimal weekend commitments. The rota includes approximately one in four Saturday mornings, finishing at 12pm. Weekday shifts typically finish at 6pm, with only occasional late shifts required to support emergency cases.
